Find a church

St Mary's church came into being as a direct result of the coming of the railway to Windermere, just a short walk downhill from the Railway Station and in view of the Lake and magnificent fells.

This fine medieval marshland parish church with its impressive tower, can be found situated in the former market town of Burgh le Marsh.

A railway church.

The church contains several interesting memorials to the Alington family, of nearby Swinhope Hall, who for many generations have been associated with the parish.

Nestling in the hills of the Troutbeck Valley, a Place for walkers and pilgrims to pause, reflect and find their eternal bearings.

St Anne’s is a beautiful Grade II* Georgian church, one of the few examples from this period in the North of England.

St Nicholas stands on a bend on the A46 and is easily missed, but if you stop you will find a surprisingly beautiful church with Saxon tower, grave markers, Norman font and other ancient features.

Croxby church is dedicated to All Saints and is a grade II* listed building of ironstone dating from the 12th century, with later additions and restorations.

Cowgill church is a welcoming haven for walkers, cyclists and other visitors, sitting on the Dales Way in the the Yorkshire Dales National Park just a mile from the Settle Carlisle Railway and Dent Station.

The present building, funded by rich merchants, was begun around 1400 when Woodbridge was an extremely prosperous port, and despite many changes over the years, we can still rejoice in the beauty and fine craftsmanship visible today.

A beautiful Jacobean porch provides the most loveliest of welcomes at this delightful and most rural of Lincolnshire churches.
