St Columba’s church, Long Tower, is one of Derry’s most cherished sacred landmarks, steeped in history and standing proudly near the ancient city walls in the Long Tower area.

Between an elegant Georgian district and the green tranquillity of Brooke Park, stands the Catholic cathedral dedicated to St Eugene in 1873 by Bishop Kelly, to whose memory the glass canopy was built.

Christ Church is a lovely parish church dating from 1830 featuring fine stained glass windows, magnificent acoustic for its choir, organ and piano and significant historical and architectural features.

St Peter’s is a modest rural church within the Suffolk Sandlings Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and bounded by a SSSI.

Waltham Abbey was founded in 1030 in what was then a thickly forested part of what we now call Epping Forest, it was rebuilt 1060 by Harold II, and it was here that his body was brought after the Battle of Hastings.

The spire, topped by a weathercock, is a local landmark as it can be seen for miles, at 150 feet tall.
