The Grade i church is Early English with a west tower over the crossing.

Impeccably maintained early 18th century church with magnificent stained glass windows, architecture and history.

The churchyard has a distinct curve to it perhaps following the shape of an underlying moat and ancient meeting place. An ancient Yew tree reckoned to be between 1,000 and 2,000 years old also stands in the churchyard.

Amid scenic country views, this is an important and early Catholic church which has an impressive external design, an intimate and authentic interior and a unique story from construction in stages from a simple rectangular structure in 1785 to housing the bell which was the first one to ring out in the diocese since penal times ahead of the bell at Armagh Cathedral.

It is thought that a wooden church may have existed in Aldbourne as early as the 7th or 8th century and the Domesday Book (1086) records that the church held two hides of land, sufficient for two plough teams, to provide for the church and priest.

The ruins of St Dubhthach's church can be found by the Clachan Duich, the traditional burial ground of Clan Macrae.

Mainly Norman, with traces of reused Roman brick, St Andrew's has a pretty clapboard bell turret and porch, and shares a churchyard with the later church of St Christopher.

The beautiful church of St Christopher was built in 1320. It is unique in sharing a churchyard with the older church of St Andrew & All Saints.

St Mary’s is the oldest building in the London Borough of Barnet, and its clearly visible Norman heritage details means that despite some further development it is described by Pevsner as a ‘remarkable survival’ of that monastic period.

St Mary's dates from around 1250 and has stood at the heart of the village of Tattingstone south of Ipswich in Suffolk and not far from the Essex border.
