St Mary's dates mostly from the 15th century and from the outside its two most striking features are the flint built tower and the beautiful south porch of stone and flint.

Consecrated in 1686 by Bishop Henry Compton (after whom Old Compton St is named) the original church was designed by William Talman, who worked under Sir Christopher Wren. In December 2016 our redesigned entrance, featuring our name in neon lights, was dedicated by the Bishop of London to ensure the church remains a visible presence in the community it serves.

There has been a community of people worshiping in London Fields for over 150 years, ever since the first church, in Lamb Lane to the East of London Fields, was consecrated in 1864.

The Grade I church is Early English and Decorated.

Corfiato’s church is important as an advanced design showing the influence of the Liturgical Movement, and as a showcase of Art Sacré, notably the murals in the Lady Chapel by Jean Cocteau.

St James’s church, built by Sir Christopher Wren, was consecrated in 1684, towards the end of the most turbulent century in England’s religious history.

This is the chapel of one of the four Inns of Court. It is on the site of the chapel built in 1315, and rebuilt in the 1960s following destruction in the Second World War.

The present building was consecrated in 1623 having been built to the designs of Inigo Jones.

The site and dedication are Norman.
