A living church where God has been worshipped for over 1200 years.

Cirencester Baptist Church had been located in Coxwell Street Cirencester since from around 1651 with the last main building works commencing in 1856.

Built in 1848 to replace the earlier medieval church, St James’ with its gothic appearance complete with sandstone dressings, is Grade II* listed and one of the earliest works of John Loughborough Pearson, the architect of Truro Cathedral.

St Bartholomew's is a fine and much loved church, full of interest and particularly famous for its monuments.

St Aelhaiarn (also spelled Aelhaearn) was a 6th century saint, and as with many of the early Welsh saints, he was a member of the aristocracy, the son of one of the Welsh princes.

A local landmark, the church is set on the end of a limestone ridge at the gateway to the Lake District National Park with beautiful views across the Kent Estuary to Morecambe Bay.

The church was built as a Congregational Church on the initiative of a local resident, Benjamin Scott, Chamberlain of the City of London, in 1864-5.

Trinity Church, as it is known locally, is a Grade 2 listed building, built in 1907 in the Gothic style and is a striking edifice in the centre of Sutton.

The churchyard site was an ancient burial ground going back to Anglo Saxon times, a buried Celtic cross, dating back to approximately 750AD, now sits proudly in the entrance porch.
