Skenfrith’s two most notable buildings are its castle and its church, both dating from the 13th century.

The origins of Abbots Leigh and the Church of Holy Trinity are lost in the mists of time, but there are definite indications of a Celtic Settlement well before the Roman invasion.

The church was built in 1911-12 to the designs of the architects Pugin & Pugin.
