Fifteen centuries of English history lie behind the massive Cathedral you see today. It stands at the heart of historic Winchester, once the seat of Anglo-Saxon and Norman royal power, on the site of an early Christian church. It’s been a place of worship ever since.

Delightful 13th century church nestling in a village on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds with dragon fighting angels looking down from the nave roof.

Built for Sir Hugh Hastings, this church has the widest nave in East Anglia with no aisles or columns a splendid uninterrupted space along with the magnificent memorial brass are just two of the many historic features of this 14th century church.

The church contains several interesting memorials to the Alington family, of nearby Swinhope Hall, who for many generations have been associated with the parish.

Mexborough parish church is very ancient in origin. Documents show that a church was on this site shortly after the Norman Conquest in 1066.

Victorian building with atmospheric mediaeval chapels, contains stunning early 20th century stained glass and the finest collection of pre-reformation alabaster memorials in the northwest.

The chapel was built between the years 1387 and 1395 to designs by William Wynford, with Hugh Herland responsible for the traceried wooden ceiling and Thomas of Oxford for the glazing.
