The long history of St Mary's opened a new chapter during the construction of Rutland Water when it became linked with the neighbouring church of St Matthew.

The hilltop setting of St Andrew's ensured its preservation when much of its parish disappeared beneath Rutland Water in the 1970s.

Seion Chapel was opened in 1878.The designer was Richard Owen of Wall, Liverpool and is fairly typical of nonconformist chapels of that period.

Ilkeston United Reformed Church is a small but growing congregation in the middle of Ilkeston.

The church was commissioned in 1953 by Major General Sir GAN Swiney, KBE, CB, MC, who was Commander of Chilwell Ordinance Depot at the time.

Christ Church was built as a mission chapel in 1901-03, and consecrated in 1915.

In 1542 Henry VIII rebuilt the church already on this site to keep plague victims from being carried through his palace grounds because at the time it was an isolated spot in the fields.

Our delightful church is situated in the picturesque village of Bangor on Dee overlooking the river and the 16th century cobbled bridge.

Opened for worship in 1776, the church is most famously associated with William Wilberforce and the group of friends known to history as 'the Clapham Sect'.
