For centuries this was an estate church to a succession of families; the Burnabys, Clerkes, and then the Henley/Eden family who successively owned the Watford Estate and Manor here.

Ashby is a remote hamlet and its medieval church of St Andrew is approached across a farmyard. The churchyard affords fabulous views across the Wolds.

The parish church was built in the 13th century of local limestone, but most of what we can see today is the result of a comprehensive rebuilding in 1865 by architect James Fowler of Louth.

A place of worship has stood on the site for 900 years although the present building, built of local greenstone, is mainly 14th century.

Amidst rolling Malvern Hills countryside, our deep historic roots tell a fascinating story to visitors who may also enjoy the GeoPark Way, Worcestershire Way, Three Choirs Way, Elgar Trail and several nature reserves all within walking distance.

Across the square from Caernarfon Castle, the church was opened in 1883 to hold English services in this very Welsh town.

An interesting example of Gothic revival, St Peter’s sits on a prominent location next to the Norman motte and bailey with good stained glass, eclectic mix of window tracery, six bell peal and fine organ.

There has probably been a church in Great Salkeld since 880 AD, when the body of St Cuthbert was rested here after being brought from Holy Island.

The only church dedicated to St Idloes, a 7th century saint about whom very little is known

Built in 1878, to the design of architect John Humphries of Morriston, and described as the ‘Cathedral of Welsh Non-Conformity’.

Located within the Lake District National Park, first stop on the popular Coast to Coast walk, St Mary’s is beside the River Ehen, close to the two pubs and a tearoom and shop; the old churchyard has associations with William Wordsworth.

St Brandon's is stunning: it's over 900 years old but recently and beautifully restored after a fire in 1998.
