The ancient church was built nearly one thousand years ago and, together with its historic graveyards, provides a unique home for the key moments and memories of our town.

This medieval church was built between the 12th and early 15th centuries with the oldest part, the tower, having been famously described as curious and interesting, the internal roofs to the porch and north aisle are considered to be fine examples of medieval woodwork.

Hentland was the Collegiate Church or monastery of St Dyfrig (alias Dubricius), the famous 6th century Bishop of Glywysing, and as such it is still a popular place of pilgrimage.

The picture postcard village of Lacock is indelibly linked with the pioneering photographer William Henry Fox Talbot, whose family home was Lacock Abbey.

St Nicholas is beautiful in its simplicity, letting in plenty of natural light, with a clear window behind the altar which looks out on the surrounding farmland.

This is a major Grade I Norman church although the exterior apart from the tower is mainly Perpendicular.
