The Cathedral welcomes everyone who passes through, if you are visiting as a tourist, come to offer your personal prayers and light a candle, or interested in history, architecture or stained glass windows.

Stilton has always been an important place geographically, situated at the side of a major Roman road, Ermine Street, and the area around Stilton and Folksworth was also the site of a major Prisoner of War Camp from Napoleonic times.

Village church with famous literary associations.

The present church and burial vault were built for Richard (the 4th Earl Scarbrough 1725-82) in the classical style around 1775 and is believed to have been designed by Lancelot Capability Brown the great 18th century landscape architect.

The first chapel on this site was a meeting room in a building also used as a pub called The Plough, which stood here in the 17th century.

St Mary's has occupied this site for over 900 years, although we are uncertain of the date of consecration.

Medieval wall paintings and tomb carvings in a church which has completely escaped modernisation.

Mursley church is a 14th century Grade II* listed building including monuments to the Fortescue family.

Grayingham church is dedicated rather unusually, to St Radegund, who was a German princess who was born early in the 6th century and went on to to establish the monastery of the Holy Cross at Poitiers.

St Aeddan’s is surrounded by three of Wales’s most historic Yew trees. The churchyard is also renowned for its beautiful setting as it is located at the crossroads of some of the Usk Valley’s most ancient walk paths, which draws walkers from Wales and beyond.

St Sampson, with its magnificent tower, is an outstanding architectural and artistic landmark close to the Thames Path.
