The church was built to a Norman design and was an early work of Sir Robert Anderson, built 1863-64. It consists of a four bay nave with porch at the northwest corner, a south transept opening through two of the bays, a chancel with organ aisle, semicircular apse and a vestry under the organ aisle. the roof is open timber and the nave is lightened by plain single point windows. The east gable has a bellcote at the junction of the nave and chancel.

This is a small and compact church but which seats 120 comfortably. The interior of yellow brick banded with red has seen some alterations but has retained its charm.
