St Simon and St Jude

This charming little church, set back from the main road, serves the community in the village of Bramdean.  It dates back to the C12 and was enlarged in the C19. Rubble flint, rendered, stone dressings, old plain tile roof. The C19 restorations have done their best to alter the outline of the early church but in the side walls you can see two plain C12 short lancets and a late C12 door in the nave.

This project covers unexpected but urgent additional works under a larger maintenance project to preserve the fabric of the church and facilitate future plans for improved use of the building by the local community in a wider range of activities.
