St John

The church is 19th Century and is Grade II* listed. The church is significant in that it was one of the first churches to be built by the Oxford Movement, completed in 1846 by the Revd John Capes.

Restrictive and dangerous access to our tower has prevented high level internal maintenance work from being carried out which has resulted in cumulative damage from pigeon waste which has accrued within the tower. The church is now suffering damage from regular water ingress. Phase one of the project repaired the roof; this application is for phase two which will repair and install better maintenance access to the roof, and will clear the tower of pigeon guano and repair and replace mesh to tower louvers to prevent pigeon ingress and the associated risks.
