Cornerstone Grants

The Cornerstone Grant Programme is currently open. The next deadline is: 2 November 2020 (for a decision in March 2021).

NOTE FOR 6 JULY DEADLINE APPLICANTS: We are aware of delays in some permission processes as a result of Covid-19. As a result we are extending the timescales for submitting permission documents for the July round of the Cornerstone Grants Programme only. The deadline for submitting an application was 6 July 2020.  However, permissions can be sent to the grants team no later than 14 August 2020 (grants@nationalchurchestrust.org). Failure to submit permissions by 14 August will result in rejection from the current round. We are sorry we cannot offer additional flexibility. Our rounds are consistently oversubscribed with a success rate of 1 in 4. Please remember there is always the next round.

The Cornerstone Grant Programme offers grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 towards the cost of major urgent structural repair projects costed at more than £100,000 including VAT.

We will also consider projects that introduce kitchens and accessible toilets to enable increased community use, costed at more than £30,000 including VAT. Grants will never exceed 50% of the project cost.

Please do watch our video about our Cornerstone Grant Programme. You can find out more and apply online at the bottom of this page.

Applicants who met the March 2020 deadline can expect a decision in Mid-July 2020. Applicants who met the July 2020 deadline can expect a decision in November 2020.

Future deadlines will be: 2 November 2020 / 1 March 2021 / 5 July 2021.
