A grant to fund high-level masonry repairs to the turrets, high-level arches and tower on the south side of the building and to make the south tower watertight. St Peter's was designed by John Dando Sedding in 1889. St Peter's is a fusion of free Gothic style used in a very original and distinctive manner. The roof arches and turrets are of particular interest as they are considered unique and they visually enhance the steep fall of the slate roof. The large deeply-recessed west window is a fine example of the church's architectural design that serves to lighten the interior of the church. The church is used for musical concerts and flower festivals. There are also a number of groups that use the church hall including mother and baby group, WeightWatchers, Kumon Maths and fitness groups for the local community.
