National Churches Trust - Trustees
The National Churches Trust, launched in June 2007, sets out to position itself as the leading independent body concerned with the protection and welfare of churches, chapels and meeting houses throughout the UK.
Its ambitions include:
- protecting and maintaining our ecclesiastical built heritage
- raising substantial capital at a national level to enable it to provide significant non-government funding for the repair, maintenance and modernisation of churches buildings throughout the country
- encouraging congregations and local communities to develop both traditional and innovative uses for their churches.
- developing sources of reliable data on churches buildings and their value as national and local resources
- promoting public discussion of the role churches and congregations play in national and community life
- creating a National Churches Photographic Library
Achieving these ambitions requires Trustees with a strong commitment to the purpose and development of the National Churches Trust.
The Trust is looking to recruit Trustees with senior experience in:
- Heritage
- Media and communications
- Community development
- Art and architecture
- Working with faith communities
- Income generation
- IT infrastructure in a growing organisation
- Grant making
