St Mary's Crowned is a Roman Catholic church built between 1882 and 1887. It is built of coursed millstone grit with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roofs with coped gables and cross finials in the Gothic Revival style. The west front has projecting apsidal baptistry.

Inside is a low chancel screen wall and a decorated iron screen. It has an octagonal stone font. The altar has a carving of the Last Supper. Stained glass in the apse has scenes from the life of Mary. There is a triple arched sedilia under elaborate traceried canopy. There are carved wooden stations and interesting stained glass.
